Suspect wanted after shooting near Orlando nightclub, police say

Police say they are looking for a suspect after a shooting was reported near an Orlando nightclub.

The Orlando Police Department said officers responded to the GILT nightclub on Bennett Rd. Just after 1 a.m. to view a shooting report.

When they arrived they said there was a large crowd of people near the club.

As they struggled to keep everyone under control, they reportedly heard that a male victim had gone to hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Through their investigation, police said they determined that the shooting took place behind Trustco Bank on E. Colonial Dr., which is just down the street from the club.

Law enforcement later said it was revealed that an argument between two groups led to a shootout between two people.

“When one of the men involved in the shooting was injured by the gunfire, he entered a vehicle and was taken to ORMC. The adult man was treated for a non-life threatening injury “said the police.

Two other gunshot wounds were reportedly located at another hospital later in the morning. They were both in the area of ​​the reported shooting and sustained non-life threatening injuries. However, police said they are not fully cooperating with detectives and both have refused to press charges.

Police are said to be still looking for a suspect. There was no arrest at the club.
