Newport nightclub will open tonight in a new, renovated look

A NEW nightclub in central Newport is set to open tonight after a successful trial run last night.

Vibez is based in Cambrian Road on the former site of Breeze nightclub.

The place has been completely transformed, with two soundproof music floors. The downstairs section will play commercial music, as well as club classics and R&B, while upstairs house, dance and techno music will be played.

Owner Jack Bannister said: “Yesterday’s trial was a complete and absolute success, our guests couldn’t believe the transformation, they expected an improvement but it completely exceeded their expectations.

“Tonight is going to be a special night and I can’t wait to show everyone our hard work, it’s all the people of Newport have been asking for and I hope they love it as much as we do.

“We believe with this project we can bring Newport’s nightlife back to life with a bang, and tonight we sold out on the stalls downstairs.

“We’ve sold out two booths upstairs in our Groove Two room, plus we’ve sold 100 general admission tickets and expect hundreds more at the door.”

The nightclub will also hold its first event tomorrow night with a big Halloween party. Tickets are selling out fast, with ground floor kiosks already sold out and limited availability for room two upstairs.

Mr Banister added: ‘We’re having a huge Halloween party tomorrow night, we’re turning the venue colors orange and black for the theme.

“The venue will be unlike any other with stalls already sold out or selling out quickly.”
