(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Partying at a bar might be a typical idea for fun on a weekend night, but not all bars are the same.
In fact, a new venue in St. Joseph wants to entertain people with more than just drinks on Saturday nights.
“Our main thing is that we have a VIP [room]we have live music, we have a DJ three nights a week, we have themed parties, we have big parties every quarter – instead of trying to draw a big crowd every weekend,” he said. said owner James Morris.
Le Luxe, LLC is a nightclub that opens on Friday nights, and the owner wants customers to have a different experience than other bars in town.
“We’ve got a big dance floor behind me, we’ve got a pool table, two darts, we’ve got a VIP suite where you can call ahead, that way if we’re at capacity you can always come in and have a good time,” Morris said.
Morris came up with the idea because he wanted people to stay in town to have fun at a bar or club instead of going to Kansas City.
“Well, hope to open this club, provided you know how to dance more in town instead of going out of town. I mean, there’s no place here when you have these little bars that have a little dance floor but nothing fancy like here,” Morris said.
And he says they already have people booking the VIP lounge and they also want to have parties for individuals and groups.
“1 reservation for the VIP [room], then we have two parties, private parties booked. And that’s another thing that we were going to try to do, you know, private parties, end of year parties, you know, just big parties in which, you know, you can’t close a normal bar here. If your parties are big enough, we’ll shut them down that way, everything will be private,” Morris said.
Le Luxe, LLC is located at 1900 Frederick Ave. and opens at 7 p.m. on Friday evenings.
